Arsenal of weapons in apartment, 62-year-old arrested in Lezha

A 62-year-old man was arrested today by Lezha police, accused of turning his home into an arms depot.
According to the Police, during a search of the house of citizen Lek Jakaj , in the village of Markatomaj, automatic grenades and cartridges were found and seized.
As a result, he was arrested for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition."
"The services of the Lezha Police Commissariat organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Befasia". During the operation, in the apartment of citizen LJ, 62 years old, in the village of Markatomaj, Lezha, the Police services found and seized, as material evidence, 1 automatic firearm with 3 combs, 414 live ammunition, 6 defensive grenades and 5 unified detonator igniters.
Following procedural actions, the 62-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition," the Police statement said.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Lezha, for further action.
