The boss of a drug trafficking organization, the 39-year-old Albanian, is captured in Dubai! Sentenced to 9 years in prison, he was wanted in Italy and Albania!

A 39-year-old Albanian man has been arrested in Dubai for extradition to Italy, while he was also wanted in our country.
The young man is accused of being the head of a large drug trafficking organization in Venice and Albania, transporting not only cocaine, but also marijuana and hashish, all the way to the Netherlands.
Active wiretapping and tracking of his family members from Albania led to the geolocation of the suspect, who was sentenced to about 9 years in prison for two different trials, with a final decision. A New Year's invitation from the wanted person to his family was enough for Interpol to go as a 'guest' to arrest him.
"In recent days, in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), police authorities, with the assistance of the investigative bodies of the State Police, at the conclusion of investigations coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Venice Court of Appeal, have located and arrested a major drug trafficker, a 39-year-old Albanian citizen, who has been on the run since 2019," the Italian police announced today.
The Albanian was finally sentenced in absentia to 8 years and 7 months in prison for collaboration with the aim of trafficking and selling drugs, as a result of 2 different trials, including the one that ended with a sentence issued by the Laguna Court of Appeal, which - at the conclusion of the investigations carried out - confirmed his role as a leading figure in a branched international organization.
The group dedicated to drug trafficking, operating in Venice, specialized in importing cocaine and marijuana from the Netherlands and Albania, then destined for drug trafficking centers in the province of Venice and other provinces of Veneto.
He lived in Noale (Venice) at the time of the events, was considered the operational head and decision-maker of the organization, directly managing the international drug supply channels and directing the distribution of drugs in the Venice area and several provincial towns, including Mestre, Scorzè, Noventa di Piave and Jesolo.
"The investigation for his capture - carried out by a task force made up of investigators from the Venice Flying Squad and the SCO (Central Operations Service), supported by interception activities and the use of advanced electronic surveillance technologies - made it possible to track the movements of the fugitive's family members living in Italy, analyzing their habits and relational context," the authorities informed .
The resulting activities – which were also shared during confidential coordination meetings at the Attorney General's Office, which requested the extension of the search internationally – allowed the investigative team to verify, as in the past, that during the Christmas and New Year period, family members would have joined the wanted person in Dubai to celebrate the holidays there.
They could rely on the logistical support of a wide network of intermediaries to reach, first, Albania and then, the United Arab Emirates.
The ongoing investigation, facilitated by Interpol's competent Division of the Service for International Police Cooperation (SCIP), which ensured the continuous exchange of investigative information with foreign agencies, allowed the Emirati police authorities to map the places frequented by the fugitive and determine his location.
The arrest of the 39-year-old, also wanted by Albanian authorities, as he is considered a key figure in a drug trafficking network in that country - is part of the "WANTED" project, coordinated by the SCO for the search and capture of fugitives in Italy and abroad.
