In addition to the lack of specialist doctors, the hospitals in the Dibra District lack forensic experts.
For at least three years, in the Municipal Hospitals, but also in the Dibra Regional Hospital, there has been no doctor to conduct the legal expertise of people who lose their lives due to unnatural causes.
People who are victims of accidents or who die from other causes, where an autopsy is required, are sent for expertise to Tirana.
As a result, the victims' families wait a long time to retrieve the body of their loved one. The transportation to Tirana translates into economic costs for them.
This concern has also been raised by the Dibra Prosecutor's Office and other institutions, whose work is often directly related to the coroner's reports./BW
