US diplomat meets with SPAK head and other justice officials

The Director of the Office for Europe and Asia of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the State Department, Mark Tervakoski, held several meetings with political and judicial figures this Wednesday.

More specifically, he met with President Bajram Begaj, the Ministers of Justice and Interior, Besfort Lamallari and Albana Koçiu, the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, the head of GJKKO, Judge Erjon Bani, and BKH Joni Keta, as well as other figures of law and justice.

The US embassy in Tirana shared some photos from the meetings, while also revealing the discussions between them. The embassy says the US is focused on cooperation “to combat criminals who harm the citizens of our countries, threaten our borders, and violate our national security.”

“Demonstrating the strength of the law enforcement partnership between the United States and Albania and the Trump Administration’s relentless fight against international organized crime and narcotics trafficking, the Director of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs’ Bureau for Europe and Asia, Mark Tervakoski, met with representatives of law enforcement, justice, civil society, and international missions in Albania.

"The United States is focused on providing capabilities, tools, and cooperation in Albania and globally to partners who share our commitment to combating criminals who harm our citizens, threaten our borders, and undermine our national security," the embassy announced.
