Journalist Alketa Çeku has denounced the trade in chicken meat contaminated with salmonella on the show Epiqendër, highlighting another concern regarding the delayed response of the National Food Authority (AKU).
Çeku announced that on March 21, the NFA had in hand the laboratory test results for chicken meat that had tested positive for salmonella, but no announcement was made public to warn citizens of the risk.
She stated that this is an unprecedented and worrying case, as, according to her, the AKU had the necessary information from March 21 to 28, but did not take any measures to reduce the distribution of infected meat.
