The 7-day deadline for applications for the position of Director General of the State Police closes today. So far, it is learned that 2 applications have been submitted, these are for the Director of the Vlora Police, Elidon Çela, and the Director for International Relations at the DPPSH, Pëllumb Seferi.

In the coming hours, other names are expected to submit applications, including the director of the Fier Police, Skënder Hitaj, of Durrës, Afrim Tafa, the director of the Criminal Police, Neritan Nallbati, the former director of the Tirana Police, Tonin Vocaj. Other leaders are also expected to be in the race.

After the application deadline, the Ministry of Interior publishes the names of the candidates on its official website. Within 10 days, a Special Commission composed of 3 people, chaired by a Deputy Minister of Interior, and 2 members, the Secretary General of this department and the Head of the Police Supervision Agency, conducts a preliminary assessment to verify the legal conditions.
