NAME/ Robbed taxi driver at knifepoint, 27-year-old turns out to be the author of several thefts

The 27-year-old, identified as Trazhgim Maçi , who robbed a taxi driver the day before, June 18, in Tirana, is the perpetrator of several armed robberies and violence. The young man was caught shortly after the crime, hiding in the territory of the village of Qeha.
He managed to take a sum of money and the pendant he was wearing from the taxi driver. Tirana Police report that the 27-year-old committed at least 5 thefts in Tirana, Kruja and Durrës in June alone.
On June 5, he stole a sum of euros and a person's wallet in the Fushë-Krujë market. On June 10, at knifepoint, he took money and a gold pendant from a business in Tirana.
Two days later, on June 12, at gunpoint, he stole a gold pendant from the owner of a business in Tirana and punched him. On June 15, he robbed a taxi driver in the village of Derven in Fushë Krujë, taking a sum of money, two cell phones and a watch at knifepoint.
Also, on June 17, he stole a taxi driver's wallet, money, and cell phone in the village of Shënavlash, Durrës.
Tirana/The codenamed "Taximetri" operation is finalized.
The operation, by Police Station No. 1, follows the actions carried out in connection with yesterday's threat, with a cutting tool, of a taxi driver by a passenger, who stole his money and a necklace.
The perpetrator was caught yesterday, immediately after the crime, hiding in the territory of the village of Qeha.
The investigation revealed that he is also the author of 5 armed/violent robberies, committed during the month of June, in Tirana, Krujë and Durrës.
The stolen pendant and 1 cell phone were seized.
As a result of the rapid intervention of the services of the Police Commissariat No. 1, immediately after the notification of a theft in a moving taxi on the "Tirana-Elbasan" road axis, where the passenger had threatened the driver with a cutting tool, and had taken a sum of money and the pendant he was wearing around his neck, it was possible to arrest the suspected perpetrator, citizen TM, 27 years old, who was located in the village of Qeha, near the area where he had committed the crime.
Further, within the framework of the coded operation "Taximetri", in-depth investigations were carried out, with the objective of fully documenting the criminal activity of this citizen. From the investigations, it is suspected that the 27-year-old:
-on 05.06.2026, in the Fushë Krujë market, he stole an amount of euros from the wallet of a citizen;
-on 10.06.2026, in a business on "Llazi Miho" street, Tirana, through threat with a cutting tool, he stole an amount of money and a gold pendant;
-on 12.06.2026, through threat with a firearm-like object, he stole the gold pendant that the owner of a subject on "Skënder Kosturi" street, Tirana, and punched this citizen;
-on 15.06.2026, in the village of Derven, Fushë Krujë, it is suspected that, by threatening with a cutting tool, he stole a sum of money, 2 cell phones and 1 wristwatch from the driver of a taxi;
-on 17.06.2026, in the village of Shënavlash, Durrës, it is suspected that he forcibly stole the wallet with money and the cell phone from the driver of a taxi.
The investigation continues to fully uncover and document the criminal activity of citizen TM, in the field of property theft/asset theft.
The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
