US-Iran talks in Switzerland postponed, Tehran conditions nuclear deal: Without Lebanon, there is no deal

Diplomatic talks between Iran and the United States in Switzerland have been officially postponed, following a series of deadly Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon. Sources close to the negotiations say Tehran has refused to send its delegation on the nuclear issue, demanding firm guarantees for the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, as stipulated in previous agreements.

According to a diplomat familiar with the matter, the Iranians' message has been blunt: "We have contained Hezbollah, while the United States is failing to contain Israel. Until they do, we will not show up ." This stance by Tehran, summarized in the principle of "no Lebanon, no deal ," is seen as an attempt to extract concessions from official Washington.

On the other hand, the tensions have also raised questions in the White House. The Financial Times newspaper notes that US President Donald Trump has openly expressed his disappointment with Israel's insistence on continuing the offensive in Beirut, which is seriously threatening the failure of high-level negotiations.

Although sources indicate that the talks have been rescheduled for Monday, everything remains unconfirmed and directly dependent on the situation on the ground.
