The hammer of justice fell heavily on Monday at the Athens Assize Court, where a 32-year prison sentence was imposed on 38-year-old Albanian Nardi Idrizi alias Fatbardh Idrizi, 39, from Vlora, for the attack on three young men from Crete in December 2023 in Gazi.

The three injured, two brothers and their friend from Mali, were lucky to avoid the worst, after the perpetrator opened fire on them, aiming directly at their heads and shooting them in the back, all due to a trivial misunderstanding.

It is reported that the 38-year-old Albanian was wanted for the incident until shortly before the start of the trial, when there was information that he would surrender, after the financial compensation he gave to the three victims. However, according to their letter to the presiding judge, two of the injured were unable to attend the trial.

During the proceedings, the three victims, although compensated, were not present, leaving the judicial decision to the competent judges. Ultimately, the Court with a mixed jury imposed a total sentence of 32 years in prison for the 39-year-old Albanian, of which he must serve 20 years.

Two brothers from Crete, along with their friend, had come to Athens for a few hours to celebrate the bachelor party of one of them. While walking on the street, they argued with the passengers of an SUV. A few meters below, the vehicle stopped and the driver got out with his passenger. A fight ensued and one of the people in the SUV opened fire, wounding the three young men in the head.

After the incident, the police declared the main perpetrator, Nardi Idrizi, wanted, while arresting his friend Emiljano Jakupi, 35 years old. The latter was also wanted as a participant in the murder of 40-year-old Delvina man, Pëllumb Islami, on February 21, 2023 in "Nea Ionia" in Athens. Jakupi had criminal records for drugs, car theft and house burglary.

Pas vdekjes, ky ka marrë emrin e të vëllait. Në 15.07.2013, Nardi Idrizi është dënuar nga Gjykata e Apelit për Krime të Rënda me 13 vjet e 4 muaj burg për veprat penale “Vrasja në rrethana të tjera cilësuese” mbetur në tentativë, në dëm të shtetasit Isuf Lamaj, “Vrasja në rrethana të tjera cilësuese” mbetur në tentativë, në dëm të shtetasit Besnik Brahimaj, “Vjedhja me armë” kryer në bashkëpunim, në ngjarjen e datës 23.08.2012 te një karburant, “Mbajtja pa leje e armëve luftarake”, “Vjedhja me dhunë” në dëm të shtetasit Viktor Gjoleka, “Vjedhja me armë” kryer në bashkëpunim, në ngjarjen e datës 11.05.2012 të Kazino Flamingo, “Mbajtja pa leje e armëve luftarake”, “Vjedhja e bankave” kryer në bashkëpunim (në ngjarjen e datës 13.12.2010), “Mbajtja pa leje e armëve luftarake”. Në një episod në 23.08.2012 pas një grabitjeje në Vlorë, Nardi Idrizi ka hapur zjarr ndaj patrullës së policisë ku ndodheshin policët Isuf Lamaj dhe Besnik Brahimaj. Rezulton i arrestuar në Vlorë në gusht 2012. Në vitin 2022 është zbuluar se ky person ka përfituar ulje të paligjshme dënimi në burgun e Fierit gjatë vitit 2020, pasi Prokuroria hetoi një skemë shpërdorimi detyre në këtë burg.

Në prill 2024, Nardi Idrizi u shpall sërish në kërkim nga policia greke si pjesë e një grupi që merrte sende të vjedhura nga grabitës të ndryshëm.

Në shkurt 2024, policia greke arrestoi vëllain e Nardit, Joni Idrizi, pasi kërkohej në Shqipëri për thyerje të masës së sigurisë. Edhe ai rezulton i dënuar më parë në Shqipëri në vitin 2012 për grabitje me armë në banka, kazino e karburante.
