Artan Hoxha: Edi Rama turned bandits and criminals into businessmen

Journalist Artan Hoxha has accused Edi Rama of turning bandits and criminals into businessmen.

Speaking about the documentary produced by ZDF, Artan Hoxha also showed how German authorities seized 16 tons of cocaine from an organized criminal group from Elbasan.

"The German media and public have continuously seen how Albania has slipped into a country that has become an operational base for organized crime.

Today, this documentary that ZDF recently made is a milestone in a path that began in 2013, moving from cannabis, to heroin, to cocaine, and today we are who we are and we have almost hundreds of people arrested for drug trafficking there.

We even have the exemplary case with the German authorities, I believe you understand, where one of the highest officials of the Ministry of Interior, who had sold the data that had come from Germany to crime bosses in Albania.

This entire exposure, including the successive cases, proves that this was an industry that was directed, permitted, and controlled, being used in the campaign.

It's a story they don't just make up, because the answer will come that the opposition interfered and did it for campaigning.

No, it is a continuation of the investigations, of the stories published by the German media since the beginning of the mandate and up to 12 years later.

We were here 6 years ago, the new road, today it's not a new road. There's a group from Elbasan who brought in 16 tons of cocaine in just one shipment.

We are not in the situation of Latin American countries, where the cartels have their own government, here it is still the government that controls and releases them. It is the state that controls them, hits them when it wants, increases the pressure on them so that they react and secure the mandate and during the mandate they secure permission to continue their activity.

"We had structured groups, now we have moved on to organizations. From simple bandits, they turned into businessmen, companies that receive public tenders, and today they have entered and merged with the socio-economic life of this country, where you cannot clearly distinguish where an organization ends and where a business company begins," said journalist Artan Hoxha during an interview on SYRI TV.
