A 56-year-old man declared internationally wanted is being sought by the Border Police services in Muriqan for extradition to Italy.
Spartak Joanu, a resident of Fier, was arrested upon entering the territory of Albania.
The Court of Appeal in Ancona sentenced him to 16 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offenses "Criminal group in drug trafficking" and "Criminal group with the aim of exploiting prostitution".
A citizen declared internationally wanted is captured by the Border Police services and arrested, with the aim of extradition to Italy.
The Border Police Services of the Muriqan BCP, as a result of increased controls and the exchange of information with Interpol Tirana, have arrested at the entrance to the Republic of Albania citizen Spartak Joanu, 56 years old, resident of Fier.
This citizen was declared an international wanted person after the Court of Appeal in Ancona, Italy, sentenced him to 16 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offenses of "Criminal group in drug trafficking" and "Criminal group with the aim of exploiting prostitution", in accordance with Italian criminal legislation.
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, will carry out the procedures for the extradition of the 56-year-old to Italy.
