Convicted in Italy for drug trafficking and theft, 51-year-old arrested in Tirana (NAME)

The State Police has announced that the 90th phase of the operation codenamed "Operacionalja" has been finalized.

As part of this action, 51-year-old Ylli Misku, who was internationally wanted, was arrested in Tirana.

According to authorities, Misku was wanted by Interpol Rome, after being sentenced by the Court of Appeal in Bologna, Italy, in July 2022, to 5 years, 11 months and 14 days in prison.

He was convicted of the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in narcotics", committed in collaboration, as well as "Theft under aggravating circumstances".

His arrest was made by the services of the Special Operations Force Directorate, following information obtained through operational channels regarding his location.

The 51-year-old has been placed in custody for extradition to Italy, while procedures for his handover to Italian authorities continue.
