
The European Commission welcomed the continued results of the Special Structure, SPAK reacts

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has reacted after the European Commission welcomed the ongoing results of (SPAK), during the 16th meeting of the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security, between the European Union and Albania, held on 11 and 12 February 2025.
The Special Prosecution Office has published part of the European Commission's message, which emphasizes that the role of SPAK and its independence in the investigation, prosecution and adjudication of complex corruption and organized crime cases has been the cornerstone of justice reform.
"SPAK has contributed to Albania's overall efforts to provide a credible track record of results against serious crime, organized crime and corruption, including at high levels ," the European Commission said in a statement.
The European Commission welcomed the continued results of the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), during the 16th meeting of the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security, between the European Union and Albania, held on 11 and 12 February 2025.
“The role of SPAK and its independence in investigating, prosecuting and adjudicating complex corruption and organised crime cases has been the cornerstone of the 2016 justice reform, the continued consolidation of which the EU supports and promotes as an integral part of Albania’s accession negotiations. SPAK has contributed to Albania’s overall efforts to provide a credible track record against serious crime, organised crime and corruption, including at high levels.”
