Korça wakes up covered in snow, thickness reaches up to 20 cm

Snowfall has hit the Korça Region this Sunday. It started in the early hours of the morning and is still continuing in several areas, including the Boboshticë-Dardhe, Bilisht-Miras axes, as well as the Korça-Voskopojë road.

According to authorities, intensive work is being done to clean and salt the roads, while drivers are advised to equip themselves with winter tires and exercise increased caution while driving, especially in mountainous areas.

At altitudes above 900 meters above sea level, the snow thickness reaches 15 to 20 cm, mainly in the Boboshticë–Dardhe areas, making it necessary to travel with vehicles equipped with winter tires.

Authorities appeal to avoid high speeds and respect traffic rules, in order to prevent accidents.
