Napoli reacts after Champions League elimination, defeats Fiorentina in Serie A

The 23rd week of Serie A gives Napoli a chance to react after their painful Champions League exit. Despite numerous injuries, including that of captain Di Lorenzo, the Italian champions defeated Fiorentina 2-1 after a match they dominated for most of the time.

From the first minutes, Napoli focused their attacks on the right wing with Vergara and Miguel Gutierrez leading them and it was Antonio Vergara, formed in the Napoli academy, who scored the opening goal in the 11th minute. On the other wing, Meret saved his goal from Gudmundsson.

In the second half, Napoli managed to find the second goal this time with Miguel Gutierrez who scored with a left-footed shot and the score went 2-0. Fiorentina reacted and in the 57th minute reduced the difference to 2-1 with Solomon, while later they managed to score the equalizer twice with Piccoli. In the end the score remained 2-1 for Napoli which goes to 46 points, while Fiorentina remains in 18th place with 17 points.
