Accused of violating equality in tenders, Erald Elezi and Gentian Gjyli appear before the GJKKO

Erald Elezi, former head of the Albanian Electric Power Corporation, and Gentian Gjyli, former director of the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH), appeared this Monday afternoon at the GJKKO.

We remind you that they were accompanied by a police officer because currently, at the request of SPAK and the decision of the Special Court, they are under the security measure "House Arrest". Gjyli's pre-trial detention period in connection with the measure "house arrest" was extended on May 18 for a period of three months. On Friday, Erald Elezi appeared before the GJJKO.

We recall that following the request submitted by the Special Prosecution Office, the Special Court of First Instance, with decision no. 118, dated 19.11.2025, has decided:

1- Assigning a personal security measure of a coercive nature, "House arrest", against the defendant Erald Elezi, accused of committing the criminal offense, "Violation of equality of participants in tenders or public auctions", committed in collaboration, in relation to the criminal fact pertaining to the procurement procedure with the object, "Construction of the Llogara tunnel" and suspected of committing the criminal offense "Violation of equality of participants in tenders or public auctions", committed in collaboration, in relation to the criminal fact pertaining to the procurement procedure with the object "Construction of the Tirana Outer Ring Road, Lot 4".

2- The imposition of a coercive personal security measure, "House arrest", against the defendant Gentian Gjyli, accused of committing the criminal offense, "Violation of equality of participants in tenders or public auctions", committed in collaboration, in connection with the criminal fact pertaining to the procurement procedure with the object "Construction of the Llogara tunnel".
