Mentioned Albania in communications with Epstein, KiE removes Thorbjorn Jagland's immunity

The Council of Europe has lifted the immunity of former Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland, following a request from Norwegian authorities, who have launched an investigation into suspected corruption related to his contacts with the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein .
The decision comes after media revelations published since November 2025 linking his name to Epstein. The investigation is expected to focus on whether Jagland received gifts, free trips or other favors from Epstein.
The reports also mention an email dated May 25, 2012, where Jagland writes to Epstein: "I was in Tirana. Extraordinary girls."
Epstein was accused by US prosecutors of creating a vast network of minors for sexual exploitation and had correspondence with well-known figures in Europe and the US. Investigations in Norway are expected to clarify whether there are criminal elements in the relationship between him and the former senior official.
