The National Food Authority has fined 8 businesses after it was found that they were selling unsafe food, in the absence of a traceability system, lack of labeling and non-fulfillment of tasks left. The inspection was carried out in subjects with import activity, where there was wholesale distribution of food products specifically (palm oil, starch, preservatives and food additives), as well as in subjects with the activity "Production, processing of milk and its by-products.

The inspection bodies of the National Food Authority carried out 21 inspections and monitoring during the month of February at the national level, in subjects with import activity, wholesale distribution of food products specifically (palm oil, starch, preservatives and food additives), as well as in subjects with the activity "Production, processing of milk and its by-products.

During the checks carried out in 21 subjects, in 8 of these subjects it was found that unsafe food was traded, in the absence of a traceability system, lack of labeling and non-fulfillment of tasks left.

For the detected violations, the AKU inspection bodies imposed 11 administrative measures with fines in the amount of 1,700,000 ALL, as well as two blocking measures were imposed in the amount of 330 kg of food products unsafe for consumption. The National Food Authority continues continuous on-site inspections to ensure food safety. - announces AKU.
