Scandal at QSUT, lack of lights takes patients out of intensive care

A serious and unprecedented situation was reported this evening at the Central Resuscitation Unit of the QSUT, where the lack of electricity has put the functioning of the most critical ward of the largest hospital in the country at risk.

According to reports received from citizens and patients' families, the power outage has created total chaos and uncertainty, paralyzing the work of medical staff and alarming the relatives of those hospitalized in serious health conditions.

Sources from the scene indicate that, due to the failure of the electrical system and the inability to guarantee minimum conditions in the intensive care rooms, patients were urgently removed from resuscitation and transferred through the hospital corridors.

A citizen present at the QSUT has reported the situation to our editorial office, highlighting the anxiety and panic created: "The situation has gotten out of control. The electricity has gone out and patients are being taken out of the intensive care unit through the corridors. It is not known what is being done, we are in complete anxiety because the lights are not coming on."

This case raises serious questions about the functioning of generators and the emergency system, in a ward where the lives of patients depend directly on electrical equipment and an uninterrupted power supply.

How is it possible that the Central Resuscitation, the heart of hospital emergencies in the country, remains without power and patients in critical condition end up in the corridors, instead of being treated in optimal and safe conditions?

Up to this point, the QSUT directorate has not provided any official reaction or explanation, neither about the causes of this technical defect nor about the measures taken to restore normality and guarantee patient safety.
