A 45-year-old citizen has been detained by police in Qafë Thanë after attempting to take 23,700 euros out of Albania without declaring it.

The police announce that the Polish citizen with the initials AK, who was found with 23,700 undeclared euros in his car, has been released on bail.

"Following the procedural actions in the case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated against the Polish citizen AK, 45 years old, residing in Poland, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", the police announced.

A 45-year-old man (Polish citizen) is being prosecuted for attempting to take 23,700 euros out of Albania without declaring them.

The Border Police Services have intensified controls to crack down on illegal activities at the border. In this context, in cooperation with the customs authorities, at the exit of the Republic of Albania, a “Benz” vehicle driven by Polish citizen AK was moved to the second line for detailed control.

During the search, 23,700 euros were found, which this citizen was attempting to take out of Albania, without declaring it in accordance with the laws in force.

Following the procedural actions in the case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated at large for the Polish citizen AK, 45 years old, residing in Poland, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border".

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for further action.
