Tragedy in Lezha/ Son died in the store, mother could not bear the pain and committed suicide a few hours later

Amidst pain and tears, family, relatives and residents of the area today said their final goodbyes to mother and son, Aleksandër and Prenë Marku, who were escorted to their final home this Sunday.

The serious incident that shocked the community of Lalmi i Ri in Lezha occurred on Friday evening, when two members of the same family lost their lives within a few hours. In the Gurra neighborhood, Aleksandër Marku, 42, was found without signs of life in his tool shop.

According to the police, initial investigations revealed no signs of violence and it is suspected that the death was due to natural causes. The 42-year-old's heart stopped beating, leaving his four children, three girls and a boy, orphaned.

A few hours later, family members also found his mother, Prenë Marku, 72, dead in her apartment in the village of Lalm i Ri. It is suspected that in a serious condition due to the loss of her son, she ended her life.
