Tirana Police Department/The police operation codenamed "Suspend" is finalized after several months of investigations.
A case of trafficking of firearms from Kosovo, with the intention of selling, is cracked. 2 pistols and combat ammunition are seized.
Two Kosovar citizens were arrested, suspected of trafficking two pistols, with the aim of selling them in Tirana, worth approximately 10,000 euros.
As a result of several months of investigations conducted with proactive methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, to crack down on the criminal activity of selling firearms, the Section for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking, in cooperation with the Operational Force of the Tirana Police Department, has organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Suspend", as a result of which the following citizens were arrested:
AP, 23 years old and KP, 53 years old, both residents of Kosovo.
During the operation, the Police services stopped the vehicle on the "Lezhe - Fushë Kruje" highway, in which citizens AP and KP were traveling, and during the search, they found and seized 2 firearms, pistols and combat ammunition. Investigations suspect that these citizens trafficked the pistols from Kosovo, with the aim of selling them in Tirana.
Investigations are continuing under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, to fully document the criminal activity of these citizens, and to identify and apprehend other citizens involved.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
