A miracle happens in New Zealand, 11-year-old girl is mistakenly sent to a

An 11-year-old girl was arrested, drugged and then taken to a mental health unit after police in New Zealand mistook her for a missing woman.

The White Shirts and authorities have tried to clarify the confusion, which has actually horrified political leaders and aroused anger in public opinion.

The girl, who at the time displayed "limited verbal abilities," was crossing a bridge in the northern city of Hamilton when a passing police car mistakenly identified her as a 20-year-old patient who had been discharged from a psychiatric hospital.

Police took the girl to the hospital, where she was admitted to a psychiatric intensive care unit despite a nurse saying she resembled a child.

After refusing to take the medication offered by staff, the girl was restrained and injected with antipsychotic medications that are "rarely given to children."

She spent more than 12 hours in the hospital until the police realized the mistake and notified her family to pick her up.
