Fire in a building in Gjirokastra, elderly woman suffocates

A fire has engulfed an apartment on the first floor of a building in the "18 Shtatori" neighborhood in Gjirokastra.

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters removed an elderly woman from the apartment who lived alone and was suffocating from smoke.

She was transported to Gjirokastra Hospital for medical assistance.
