Will white smoke come out? US delegation lands in Islamabad for new talks with

A senior delegation from the United States has arrived in Islamabad to resume negotiations with Iran, in an effort to reduce tensions between the two countries.

The delegation is led by US Vice President JD Vance and also includes Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law, as well as special negotiator Steve Witkoff.

According to the AFP agency, Pakistani authorities have significantly increased security measures in the capital ahead of the resumption of talks, which aim to find a solution to the conflict between Washington and Tehran.

Donald Trump stated on the Truth Social platform that US representatives will be in Islamabad on Monday evening to hold talks that could lead to an end to the crisis.

Local authorities have imposed movement restrictions in some areas of Islamabad and the neighboring city of Rawalpindi, including roadblocks and increased checks near major hotels such as the Marriott and Serena, where previous rounds of negotiations have also taken place.

Footage from the ground shows an increased presence of security forces, barbed wire and checkpoints, while citizens have been urged to cooperate to avoid tensions during diplomatic developments.
