Iran officially reacts after the failure of negotiations: Talks were suspended over these issues

Peace talks between Iran and the US have been suspended due to a "gap between our opinions on two or three important issues", Tehran's foreign ministry said.

"Ultimately, the talks did not result in an agreement," spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told Iranian state television.

He did not provide further details about what these issues were.

Baghaei said that on some topics, American and Iranian negotiators "actually reached mutual understanding."

They discussed the Strait of Hormuz, Baghaei said, although he did not mention whether they discussed nuclear weapons.
