Israeli Security Council approves construction of 19 settlements in the West

Israeli authorities have approved the establishment of 19 Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

This brings the total number of settlements that have received the green light in the last three years to 69.

"The proposal by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Defense Minister Israel Katz to announce and formalize 19 new settlements in Judea and Samaria was approved by the government's security council," authorities announced.

He stressed that they aim to prevent the creation of a Palestinian terrorist state.
