The signing of Luis Diaz has so far proven to be a masterstroke for Bayern. According to the Colombian international himself, his strong start in Munich is no coincidence.
"I think it's because they showed incredible faith in me," Diaz said in an interview about his new chapter at Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich signed the 28-year-old from Liverpool in the summer. The transfer fee is estimated at around 70 million euros.
"From day one, my teammates and the club welcomed me very quickly. Even though learning the language is a bit difficult, I immediately felt part of the family," Díaz said enthusiastically.
He added that he had found “a very close-knit team at Bayern, where I feel comfortable – something I’ve always been used to and that I’ve always loved. So everything was very easy for me,” explained the left-winger. The Colombian has already contributed twelve goals and seven assists in his first 21 official matches for the Bavarians. “I also had a few good years at Liverpool, especially last season, so my time in the Premier League helped me a lot. I wanted a challenge and to play in the Bundesliga to gain new experiences. I knew I would do well. Of course, I didn’t expect to play so well so quickly, but that’s what I’m working towards,” said Díaz.
