Over 1,000 dead in Iran after military clash with Israel

Iranian authorities have confirmed that at least 1,060 people have been killed in the latest military clash with Israel. The official figure was made public by Saeed Ohadi, representative of the Martyrs and Veterans Foundation, in an interview with Iranian state television, also quoted by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

According to Ohadi, the number of victims could rise in the coming days due to the serious injuries suffered by many of the injured. So far, over 4,400 injured have been reported.

Meanwhile, a report by the US-based Human Rights Activists organization says 1,190 people have been killed, of whom 436 are civilians. The heaviest casualties have been recorded at military bases, air defense systems, and facilities related to Iran's nuclear program.

At first, Iranian authorities tried to downplay the consequences of the attacks, but as the days passed, they were forced to acknowledge the extent of the damage. The situation in the country remains tense, with the consequences of the conflict worsening the humanitarian situation and prompting strong criticism within Iran. Regional tensions remain high and the future of the conflict remains uncertain.
