Epstein's death mystery: A prisoner entered his cell on the night of the

Shocking new documents from Epstein's archives give a contradictory account of the billionaire paedophile's final hours while he was in prison.

According to CBS News, the recently released "Epstein Files" have revealed that authorities believe a "mysterious" inmate may have had access to the facility where Jeffrey Epstein was being held on the night of his death.

Hidden among three million pages of legal documents and thousands of images, lies an exhibit that appears to contradict the official version of the notorious pedophile's final hours.

Federal investigators reviewed closed-circuit television footage from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York, where Epstein was incarcerated, and spotted an orange figure climbing a staircase to his cell on the night of his death.

According to official records, Epstein committed suicide sometime after 6:30 a.m. on August 10, 2019, when he was discovered by a prison guard delivering breakfast to him. The initial medical examiner's report concluded that he committed suicide by hanging.

However, to date, no official time of death has been determined, as two of the cameras monitoring his cell were found to be "malfunctioning" and were subsequently put under review by the FBI.

The report noted that at 10:39 p.m. on August 9, 2019, FBI agents noticed “something orange that appeared to be climbing the stairs of Floor L, possibly a detainee being escorted to that floor.”

Despite this, the analysis by the two investigative authorities contradicts public statements made by at least two senior American officials.

Bill Barr, who was US attorney general during Trump's first term, claimed in a 2019 interview that he had personally reviewed security footage confirming that no one entered the area where Epstein was staying the night he died.

And last May, former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said: “There’s crystal clear video. He’s the only person there and the only person coming out. You can see it.”
