21-point peace plan for Gaza and the region, some of the key issues revealed

US President Donald Trump's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, has announced that the United States has drawn up a new 21-point peace plan for Gaza and the entire region.
Details of the plan have not yet been officially made public, but several media outlets have reported on its possible content, highlighting some of the key points the document is said to contain.
According to The Times of Israel, one of the key points of the plan is to create a path to a future Palestinian state, an idea that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly opposed in his recent speech to the UN General Assembly.
It is also reported that the plan envisages that Palestinians will be able to remain in the Gaza Strip, without inciting their massive displacement, a very delicate and controversial issue in the current context.
If confirmed, these points are expected to be at the center of discussions between Trump and Netanyahu during their meeting on Monday at the White House. The optimism expressed by Trump could face major challenges at that meeting.
According to The Times of Israel, which says it has seen a copy of the draft proposed by the US, the plan also includes a demand for the disarmament of Hamas, the complete demilitarization of Gaza and the establishment of a process for the deradicalization of the population.
From the proposals that have emerged so far, it is clear that both sides, Hamas and the Israeli government, will have to make major concessions to have any real chance of reaching an agreement.
