A 53-year-old priest in Agrinio was convicted in the second degree of sexual abuse and rape of three girls, who were minors at the time. One of the girls, who is now an adult, has decided to break her silence and publicly confess everything she experienced.
"When I was 13, he started to tease me with inappropriate touching. Then he asked me to confess to him alone, without anyone else present."
In her confession, she says that everything happened in a dark room that the priest used as a confessional.
"He kissed my neck and touched me in private places. I knew it was wrong, but I didn't dare speak up. He was a priest, and everyone respected him."
The priest was found guilty of rape, sexual harassment and possession of pornographic materials and sentenced to 27 years in prison.
In the courtroom, one of the girls' mothers came to the priest's defense, not believing her daughter.
The girl said that the priest manipulated not only the girls but also their families, using his religious position to gain their trust and control them.
