Appearing in Trump's video as a monkey, Barack Obama reacts for the first time

Former US President Barack Obama, during a recent interview, indirectly reacted to the racist video posted on social media by President Donald Trump. Obama said that the shame and etiquette that once guided public officials are now gone.
The 47-minute podcast with Obama was released on Saturday. The episode begins with the host asking him to comment on American discourse, which he says has degraded to a level of cruelty never seen before.
Host Brian Tyler Cohen also asked about the White House's claim that immigrants apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are domestic terrorists. He also added that a few days ago, Trump placed a picture of Obama on the body of a monkey.
Obama responds by saying: "It's important to acknowledge that the majority of the American people find this behavior deeply disturbing. It's true that it's attention-grabbing. It's true that it's a distraction."
Obama also added that there is a kind of clown show going on on social media and television.
"And what's true is that there doesn't seem to be any shame about it among people who used to think you had to have some kind of etiquette and a sense of propriety and respect for the office, right? That's been lost," he said, without mentioning Trump by name in his response.
During the interview, Obama spoke about a variety of issues. He praised protesters who have peacefully organized against immigration operations, discussed redistricting and talked about his presidential library, which is expected to open in Chicago next year.
