Teleconference with G7 leaders, Trump assures them: Iran is on the verge of surrender
US President Donald Trump told leaders of the Group of 7 (G7) countries during a teleconference on Wednesday that Iran is "on the verge of surrender", Axios reports, citing three G7 officials familiar with the content of the talks.
According to the article, Trump appeared proud to his allies, saying that he had "saved the world from a cancer that threatened us all," referring to the results of Operation "Epic Fury."
He also stated that "nobody knows who the leader is, so there's no one who can declare surrender," Axios writes. The White House has not yet commented on these statements.
Trump today described members of the Iranian leadership as "paranoid criminals" and said it was a great honor for him to have eliminated them.
However, the fighting has been going on for almost fifteen days and there are no signs of a quick surrender by the Iranian regime. On the contrary, the clashes are escalating and expanding, with no apparent end in sight.
