Prime Minister Edi Rama stated at a press conference from the Prime Minister's Office that a coincidence occurred with the company's withdrawal in the final phase of the construction of the Porto Romano port.
Rama stated that there is no evidence that the company was under pressure, but according to him, the process was conducted under pressure.
According to him, there was no pressure from the US, while he claimed that they, along with the EU, have not expressed any concerns.
"Regarding the Porto Romano project, there was an inevitable coincidence that at the last moment the company that had gone through all the phases and was supposed to make the final offer withdrew, referring to the crisis situation, and since the financial offer would be linked to the ceiling set by the study conducted by the world's largest company for the construction of ports, airports, etc. and to the ceiling set by the request of the Albanian government, we have no reason to look back at anything else ourselves. We have no data that the company was under any pressure, but the process was developed under pressure, not from the US, as is said without argument, because there was no pressure, but no concern expressed by either the US, the EU, or anyone. But there was pressure from other factors, of course uninterested in that port being a success story.
