Iran's military raises tensions in the Middle East: We are still in a time of war, despite the ceasefire

While the ceasefire remains in effect, Iran does not consider the war over, an Iranian military spokesman stressed in a statement on state television, reported shortly after Donald Trump's latest post on social media.

"The situation is still considered wartime and the forces' database of targets and equipment has been updated," the spokesman said.

However, referring to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the spokesman also revealed a division of control between Iran's military units, which include conventional troops and the Revolutionary Guard.

He said that the western part of the strait is managed by the Revolutionary Guard and the eastern part by the regular army of the Islamic Republic.

President Trump has repeatedly claimed that the Iranian regime is internally divided and it is not clear who controls it.
