Zelensky demands Patriot missiles from US after massive Russian attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked the United States for Patriot missiles, following a recent Russian attack that killed at least 18 people and injured dozens more.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that overnight Russia launched 73 missiles and 656 drones, including eight Tsirkon hypersonic missiles, hitting key cities such as Kiev, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava and Kharkiv.
The explosions rocked the capital, as residents took refuge in basements, corridors and subway stations. Authorities reported that six people were killed and 66 injured, including three children.
Zelensky described the attack as “a broad and clear offensive by Russia” and warned that Ukraine was running out of Patriot missiles, the only ones that can stop enemy high-speed ballistic missiles. He stressed that these systems are vital to saving lives and preventing further attacks.
Meanwhile, in the city of Dnipro, attacks left 12 people dead and 36 injured, including a rescue worker who died in a secondary attack in the same location. In Kharkiv, at least 14 people were injured and many buildings and vehicles were damaged.
