Vapes, the new trend among Albanian youth that is raising concerns

Vapes, also known as electronic cigarettes, are becoming increasingly popular among young people in Albania. With their sweet aromas, attractive designs and the image of a “safer” alternative to traditional tobacco, they have become part of everyday life – from schools to social networks.
But while it may seem like a harmless fad, doctors warn of harmful effects that are often ignored. Vaping can affect the lungs, the nervous system, and is addictive through its nicotine content – even when this is not clearly stated.
What makes this phenomenon even more worrying is the ease with which teenagers can purchase these products, often without any clear legal control or regulation.
Many parents and teachers are expressing concern, while authorities have yet to take concrete measures to control their spread.
Faced with this reality, there is a need for widespread awareness and a review of the laws regulating the sale and use of vapes, before this trend turns into a silent health crisis.
