Life is getting harder for Albanians in Great Britain: Houses will cost more next year

Houses in the UK will cost more next year. According to experts, property prices are expected to rise by up to 3% during 2025 as new home construction has been in the minority in recent years.
“Unprecedented availability of properties for sale across the country, compared to demand… continues to support high prices. Higher mortgage rates compared to a few years ago may have made some homeowners reluctant to sell, to avoid an immediate increase in their monthly mortgage cost when they move," said Amanda Bryden, Director of Mortgages of Halifax.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer last week announced details of a reform of the planning system for building new homes by 2030 which also aims to boost economic growth. This is expected to affect many Albanians who live in Great Britain and who mainly live in rented apartments.
