EMRI/ Wanted for 1 month for abuse of office, former lawyer of the Fier Cadastre is arrested

A 56-year-old man, a former lawyer at the State Cadastre Agency in Fier, has been arrested by the Police, following the operation codenamed "Stolen Land", conducted a few weeks ago.

According to the Police announcement, citizen Hidir Zani, a resident of Fier, was arrested and wanted for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office", committed on several occasions.

The First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Fier, with the decision dated September 17, 2026, had imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him.

The 56-year-old is suspected of repeatedly abusing his position while working as a lawyer at the State Cadastre Agency in Fier. He was detained by specialists from the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section, as part of the ongoing police operation "Stolen Land".

The procedural materials have been referred to the Fier Prosecutor's Office for further investigative actions.
