Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu of the Vetevendosje Movement is elected Speaker of the

Albuena Haxhiu, from the Vetevendosje Movement, was elected Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

66 deputies voted in favor.

118 MPs voted in favor of forming the Temporary Committee for the Verification of Quorum and Mandates. The members of the committee immediately met, while the Assembly went into a 15-minute recess until the committee completed its work.

The chairman of the session, Avni Dehari, said that this committee will review the relevant documentation for the certification of the results of the elections by the CEC held on December 28, 2025 and submit to the Assembly a report on the validity of the mandates of the deputies of the Assembly, as well as verify the quorum in the founding session of the tenth legislature.

He said that the chairman of the Temporary Committee should be from the Vetëvendosje Movement with the largest number of MPs.

The Vetëvendosje Movement proposed Adnan Rrustemi to this commission, the Democratic Party of Kosovo proposed Përparim Gruda, the LDK proposed Armend Zemaj, the Serbian List proposed Srxhan Popovic as a member of this commission, the AAK proposed Albana Bytyqi, while the KDTP proposed Fatma Taçi as a representative there, the Vakat coalition Rasim Demir, while the NDS proposed Emilja Rexhepi, from the IRDK is Elbert Krasniqi, from the PLE Veton Berisha, Nenad Rashiq from the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival, SDU, Duda Balje, PSA Artan Asllani, LPRK Erxhan Galushi, Adem Hoxha from the JGP.
