Kurti remembers the events where 20 citizens were killed: 20 years later we must
Today marks 20 years since the drowning of three children in the river Ibër in the village of Çaber in Zubin Potok. Four Albanian children were followed by a group of young people from the Serbian community. To escape the attack, the little ones jumped into the river. Due to the cold, only Fitim Veseli came out of the river alive.

Kurti, recalling this shocking event, says that justice for Serbian crimes in Kosovo has not yet been delivered.

"The news about the drowning in the river of Egzon Deli, 13 years old, Avni Veselit, 12 years old, and Florent Veselit, 9 years old, spread like lightning and echoed horribly in every corner of the country. Citizen protests in the streets were the immediate response. Without an organized call and without an organization in progress, they very quickly took on massive proportions, including all of Kosovo", Kurti writes on his FB account.

"And when the protest is spontaneous and unorganized, for it to be peaceful and calm, each participant must be peaceful and calm. While it only takes a handful of protesters to become violent. And so it happened. In fact, initially they were directed against UNMIK, and then, who directed them towards the settlements with Serbs and Orthodox churches and monasteries was never clarified", Kurti further states.

Six citizens were killed in Mitrovica: Fatmir Abdullahu, Ferid Çitaku, Isak Ibrahimi, Ajvaz Shatrolli, Jana Tuçe (from North Macedonia) and Borivoje Spasojevic.

In Lipjan three: Nenad Vesič, Nevzat Rrahmani and Arben Shala. In Gjilan one: Slobodan Periç.

In Bellopojë one: Esat Tahiraj, from Novosella.
