LDK proposes Kujtim Shala for deputy speaker of the Kosovo Assembly

The Chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has announced that the decision-making structures of the political entity have supported his proposal for Kujtim Shala to be appointed Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, while Hykmete Bajrami to be appointed Head of the LDK Parliamentary Group.

"Today, before the party's decision-making structures, I have proposed Academician Kujtim Shala for Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic, as well as Ms. Dr. Hykmete Bajrami for Head of the LDK Parliamentary Group," Abdixhiku writes on Facebook.

He says that his proposal is supported by the Parliamentary Group and the Presidency of the Democratic League of Kosovo; and both positions will be nominated and appointed by our group.

"You, dear priests, have risen to this noble task for our political home, our voters, and the people of Kosovo," he wrote.

Today, today's constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo was interrupted due to the non-voting of the report of the Temporary Committee for the Verification of Mandates.

MPs from the opposition parties, PDK, LDK and AAK, voted against this report, while the Serbian List abstained.

The opposition questioned Kurti's resignation from the post of Prime Minister and other members of the Government who were elected MPs in the February 9 elections.
