The oldest man in Japan passes away, this is how old he was

The man who held the title of Japan's oldest man, Mikizo Ueda, has died at the age of 112.

The centenarian resident of Nara was born in May 1910. Japan has the highest level of life expectancy in the world, while quite a few Japanese people have been recognized as the oldest people in the world.

Kane Tanaka, who was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's oldest person, died on April 19 in Fukuoka Prefecture at the age of 119. After her death, Japan's oldest resident is now Fusa Tatsumi, 115, from Osaka.
