Tragic event in Peja! Man kills sister-in-law with hard objects, flees after the crime

A serious incident has shaken the village of Vitomirica in Peja, where a woman lost her life as a result of suspected blows with a sharp object. The person suspected of the murder, who according to the Police is suspected to be her brother-in-law, is still at large.
According to a statement from the Kosovo Police, the case was reported on Sunday evening, at around 9:10 PM, when authorities were notified that the woman had been found without signs of life. The medical team arrived at the scene and pronounced her dead.
The circumstances of the incident make the case even more disturbing. Just about two hours earlier, at 7:00 PM, the victim had sought police assistance, reporting a case of domestic violence in Vitomirica.
After reporting the incident, the woman was escorted to the police station, where she was interviewed. The police also arrested and questioned her husband, who was detained for 48 hours. The victim was then taken to her home of her own free will.
About two hours after this action, the police received notification that she had been found dead.
Based on initial investigation data, it is suspected that the death was caused by blows with a hard object. However, the full circumstances of the case and the criminal liability of the persons involved remain under investigation.
The State Prosecutor has been notified of the case, and has arrived at the scene. Meanwhile, the relevant police units are undertaking investigative actions to fully clarify the incident and locate and arrest the suspect who is on the run.
