This Tuesday, Sali Berisha's DP announced with excitement that it has taken control (it was granted the right to administer by Facebook after 1 and a half years from the decision of the Appeal for the Seal) of the Facebook page with 320 thousand followers, called the Democratic Party - Euroatlantic Democrats, a page that was previously called the Democratic Party of Albania.
“ The Democratic Party of Albania announces the reactivation of our original Facebook page. Following the final decision of the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction of Tirana (Decision No. 723, dated June 11, 2024), which confirmed the legal rights over the name, seal and symbols of the Democratic Party of Albania, we inform you that the temporary name on the Facebook page, “Euroatlantic Democrats” will be changed to “Democratic Party of Albania” to reflect the legal name of the institution ,” reads a notice distributed on this page.
After this news, also pushed by abusive headlines in various media, ("Basha finally surrenders... He even gives the DP's FB to Berisha", etc., etc.), after finishing the celebrations for Rama's overthrow every week for 4 consecutive years, Berisha's supporters have exploded into ecstasy that they "defeated" Basha and now, according to them, the cause of the Euro-Atlantics in the DP has finally "extinct"!
In fact, the truth is that this is a routine appeal procedure at Facebook, which is carried out by thousands of individuals or entities with claims for various pages on this network. Just as it took over the Seal, the building and the symbols, (for now), in a dubious process and under investigation at the Court of Appeal in Tirana, after a year and a half of presenting that decision to Facebook, they also took over the administration of the party's page on this social network.
This is the truth of the "magnificent victory" of the Berisha supporters who have turned the DP into a brothel where no internationals enter, but every democrat who thinks differently from Berisha and seeks the victory of the DP over Rama and not over SPAK and GJKKO, where he himself has family processes and some cronies surrounding him, is mixed up as a "traitor". While SPAK has deepened the investigations into how the "Re-establishment" of Berisha was made and where it was financed, who then managed to take control of the DP in the Tirana Appeal in June 2024, Lulzim Basha and the Euro-Atlantic Democrats continue the battle in the High Court.
