Famous singer Justin Timberlake has filed a lawsuit in Suffolk County Superior Court to stop the publication of footage from the moment he was arrested for drunk driving.
According to "People," he claims that releasing the video would cause "serious and irreparable harm" to his personal and professional reputation.
Timberlake was arrested on June 18, 2024, in New York, after being stopped by police on suspicion of drunk driving.
Initially, he was charged with drunk driving, a stop sign violation, and failure to maintain lane.
According to the police report, the singer stated that he had drunk "a martini" and was following friends home.
Officers reported that his eyes were "red and watery," and he refused to submit to a breathalyzer test.
In September 2024, the artist agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge, paying a $500 fine.
He was ordered to perform 25 hours of community service, have his driver's license revoked for 90 days, and participate in an awareness campaign about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.
In the lawsuit filed on March 2, his lawyers argue that publishing the footage would violate his privacy and reveal personal details, including sensitive information about him and his family.
