The Socialist Party today rejected SPAK's request to the Parliament for authorization to arrest Belinda Balluku, who already has her own lawyers for Prime Minister Rama.

In a direct connection for "Top Story" with Grida Duma, Taulant Balla said that the PS's decision was appropriate since every person is presumed innocent until a final court decision.

According to Balla, the criminal offense for which Balluku is accused may not even end with a prison sentence. The leader of the SP group also "clashed" with moderator Grida Duma during his narrative. Duma asked Balla if justice reform failed, while the socialist replied that the decision does not affect the investigation by SPAK.

Balla: The wish of many people is that the justice reform fails, but the majority, including the Socialist Party, want the reform to deepen its success. What we have made public today is a right decision, at the right moment in terms of respecting the constitutional norm. Mrs. Duma, in the Republic of Albania there is no immunity for anyone. We are among the few countries that have this, we must say that the EU member states, for the most part.

Balla: I don't insult anyone's intelligence. I have respect for you as a journalist...

Duma : I have no politician for you, you are lying beyond the measure of a normal politician.

Balla: There is no immunity for politicians, for MPs.

Duma: So what did you vote for, who protects Mrs. Balluku from arrest?

Balla: Don't take advantage of the fact that you're from the studio.

Duma: If you had come, you would have been invited.

Balla: Can I continue the reasoning? This point needs to be clarified. 3-4 days ago, a request was voted in the Czech parliament to lift the prime minister's immunity for investigation. He can only be investigated if he is not re-elected. In the case of colleague Balluku, the investigation is not affected by the lack of authorization.

Duma : You didn't address this today, you addressed whether you will grant SPAK the right.

Balla: I'm explaining to you. I missed having you in front of me because you left the group weak.

Duma: I am the individual who has responsibility for a larger audience.

Balla : PS, don't cry about your problem.

Duma: Don't worry, I'll tell you, you'll be held responsible.

Balla: The charge for which, at the end of a process, is not a criminal offense for which you can be sentenced to prison, you can also be punished in other ways. There is a consolidated practice in all cases. I don't know what happened, why SPAK requested authorization for the arrest.

Duma: We are discussing this permission.

Balla: The prosecution is within its right to conduct the investigation and we assess that this request is not based on evidence that Balluku is tampering with evidence. There is no risk that he could escape, he has shown correctness and above all what we have said today is the same message that we have always said. Balluku will fight the battle himself with his lawyers. Why is the SP taking a different stance? It is the first time that we are faced with such a decision for an offense that may not be punishable by arrest. The accusation must be investigated, but it does not constitute a serious accusation.

Duma: So can it be said that SPAK has played tricks?

Balla: The charge is for violating equality in tenders, for all the others there was no precautionary measure of imprisonment without a court decision. The Assembly is within its right not to grant the authorization on Thursday.
