KAS dismisses the State Election Commissioner, accepts the complaint of PL and Lefter Maliqi against the mayor of Kuçova, Kreshnik Hajdari

The Complaints and Sanctions Commission (KAS) has today taken an important decision regarding the political fate of the Municipality of Kuçova. During the official meeting, the KAS reviewed complaint request no. 1, filed on June 1, 2026 by the Freedom Party and Lefter Maliqi.
The subject of this appeal was the objection to decision no. 35, dated 21 May 2026, previously taken by the State Election Commissioner (Ilirjan Celibashi). This first decision related to the administrative review of the verification result (decriminalization file) for the current mayor of Kuçova, Kreshnik Riza Hajdari, who ran under the Socialist Party logo.
After considering the arguments presented by the legal representatives of the Freedom Party and Lefter Maliqi, the KAS panel decided:
-Partial acceptance of the appeal filed by the opposition.
-Full repeal of decision no. 35, dated 21.05.2026, of the State Election Commissioner on the closure of the verification against Kreshnik Hajdari.
-Obligation of the State Election Commissioner to return the file and examine the merits of this administrative matter.
-Rejection of the request aimed at disallowing an appeal against this process.
