Requested the exclusion of the judge from the consideration of the case, GJKKO rejects Veliaj's request

The Court of Appeals has decided to reject the request of the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, for the exclusion of Judge Etleva Deda from the trial procedure. This request was filed by Veliaj as part of the criminal process in which he is involved, but was considered legally unfounded and without sufficient arguments to justify the exclusion of the judge.

According to the decision of the Bib Ndreca, Etleva Deda will continue to participate in court proceedings, continuing the examination of the criminal case related to the investigations against Veliaj.

The request for disqualification was filed after a clash during a preliminary hearing of the case, where the defense argued that the judge had engaged in illegal behavior, but Judge Ndreca ruled that the allegations did not meet the necessary legal criteria to strip the judge of her jurisdiction under review.
